Taste of Kerala from My Kitchen. Thursday, June 11, 2015. Mangoes have lot of stories to tell. Yesterday my husband bought mangoes from Salem during one of his official trip. Two of the varieties were. I had made smoothies with the Alphonsa. It was very sweet and fleshy. I felt so grateful to have this superior variety. I said a big thanks to the unknown who planted and nurtured the tree. I had proudly served it for my guests. Monday, February 23, 2015.

A pinch of cooking soda. Vegetables like potatoes or onions or raw plantain. Mix everything with water except oil and vegetables to get a thick batter. Cut the vegetable into round slices and keep ready. When the oil is hot, dip the slices in the batter and deep fry them till golden brown on both sides. Serve hot with chutney or sauce. 1 or 2 Green chillies.
